Nokia Arts Awards (1999 - 2001)

The Nokia Arts Awards was run from
1999 - 2001 to consciously promote the development of creative art across the Asia Pacific among the region's youth. For Nokia Arts Awards 2001, the theme was 'Eye on the World'.

One of the most comprehensive regional arts awards competition in the Asia Pacific, the Nokia Arts Awards
covered 14 markets such as Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Evident from the submissions of the past two years' competitions were the cultural and ethnic diversity, and the students' creativity in expressing their artistic views of the world they live in. Nokia received a total of 5,638 entries in 2000, a three-fold increase from when it began three years ago.
