At Nokia, sponsorship is an integral part of our marketing communications strategy. As you can imagine Nokia gets inundated with requests for sponsorship, support, prizes and assistance with all sorts of things every month. While we would like to help everybody we can't satisfy demand, plus we already have a broad program of activities. To find out more about what we are currently involved with, have a look around this website.

But if you really feel that you have something you'd like to share with us, then below we have set out some guidelines to assist you in addressing some of the things which we are looking for.

And remember, we see lots and lots and lots of opportunities. We are not interested in just slapping our brand on a banner or doing what someone else did last year! So it is up to you to convince us.

Key requirements for potential sponsorships

All sponsorship opportunities which Nokia undertakes must meet the following criteria:

  • must fit with Nokia's brand
  • provide a clear message to our consumers
  • must show innovation and creativity - and set us apart!
  • must show a solid return for the investment
  • show executional and logistics excellence

What we require from you?

It is important that you include the following information in your proposal to assist us with evaluation:

  • name, full address, a brief description of your organisation and any relevant credentials
  • details of key persons within your organisation who are involved
  • details of the benefits of the sponsorship for Nokia including an estimate of $ value
  • full description of the event or sponsorship including where it would take place and when
  • a timeline for the project
  • exactly what support do you require from Nokia
  • details of exposure for Nokia during the event/sponsorship and any ongoing exposure
  • tell us who else is on board

A few hints and tips

  • Please include your name and return contact numbers (yes, people do forget!)

  • We strongly recommend that proposals be in an email-able format under 5 megs.

  • Pictures are helpful

  • Keep your proposal short but deliver quality information.

  • Don't forget to mention the dollars - after all, it is kind of important information

  • Don't waste time telling us about Nokia. We know about ourselves, we want to know about you and your project.

  • Oh...and take the time to check out our website before your send in the proposal to ensure that we aren't doing something similar already.

  • Ensure it clearly outlines what you want and when and why you think it would be good for us to join forces with you.

  • Ah....please proof read, you would be amazed about how many professional proposals we see with lots of typos?

  • Did we mention email your proposal to us. Please email. Decisions are made on email - snail mail is much more difficult to share around.

  • Don't call us everyday to check did we get it, what do we think, when are we going to have an answer for you. We promise we will answer but hassling a potential partner everyday is not the best way to try and start a relationship.

  • Lastly, please realise that we can't say yes to everything. Your proposal might be very good, but just not for us at this time.
